Instructions for downloading Total Nitrogen and Total Phosphorus incremental yield values for individual Major River Basin models from the U.S. Geological Survey SPARROW Decision Support System
One of the functions provided by the SPARROW Decision Support System (DSS) allows users to download modeling results based on constituent, time period, and geographical area.
1. To download Total Nitrogen and Total Phosphorus incremental yield values for an individual Major River Basin, begin by selecting the desired SPARROW Model by using either: 1) the drop-down menus (highlighted below in orange), or 2) the list of individual models (highlighted below in red). Once the selected model loads in the right hand side of the window, select: "Explore this model in the Decision Support System >>" (highlighted below in purple).
2. The SPARROW DSS will open a window that shows the geographic extent of the model that you selected.
3. To view Total Nitrogen or Total Phosphorus incremental yields for the chosen model, select from the Data Series: "Total Incremental Yield" (highlighted below in red).
4. Then select Display: "Catchments" (highlighted below in red)
5. To apply these settings, click on the "Update Map" button (highlighted below in red).
6. The model will load showing the incremental yield by catchment for the respective constituent (i.e., Total Nitrogen or Total Phosphorus). To download the Total Nitrogen or Total Phosphorus incremental yield values, click on "Export Data" (highlighted below in red).
7. When the window prompts you to choose either Comma Separated Values, Tab Delimited Values, or Excel Spreadsheet, select the desired data output type (highlighted below in purple). If you would like to download incremental yield values for the entire Major River Basin represented in the model, deselect the check box "Only export reaches in view," and then click on the "Export" button (highlighted below in red). Metadata is included as part of the data download.
To report an error found in data downloaded from this site, please notify the contact listed in the metadata for the data layer.
